Uncharted Water Online

Uncharted Waters Online is a very unique game that is different with any other MMORPGs. As other usual MMO gameplay are about grinding, killing monsters, grinding, finding rare equipment, umm.. grinding, pvp, grinding, etc lol. This game is actually good for its realistic gameplay. Its setting takes place in the real world in the 15th – 16th century when the Europe began to explore the world. Found India, America, Caribbean, Indonesia, Japan, and other real-world exotic destinations. The core of its game is by using ship to travel between cities. Player are also able to enter the city, trade goods, go to the tavern, take quests, find friends, join company, explore land, and many other things to do.

Gameplay

How players enjoy this game can come from different views. There might be players that love adventuring, so they will explore the world, find ruins or become a biologist. There are also  players that love trading, so they will go from city to city to buy goods with low price and sell it somewhere with higher price, and there are also players that love fighting that make them choose whether to become a navy or a pirate! With this many opportunities, players are given their freedom to do whatever they want. And one more thing, situations like sea safety, goods pricing, and development of cities are in the players’ hands.

Graphic

This game is originally made 5 years ago in Korea. The game itself can be considered as ‘quite-old’, but the graphic is awesome. The model of the characters, ships, relics, and buildings are detail. The sea waves are also different in some places (especially in open sea). The enviroment are well made for the game made 5 years ago.

Sound

In terms of sound effects and music the game does fairly well. If you ever played the original Uncharted Waters games for the snes or pc, you should have a bit of nostalgia, especially if you listen to the song on the startup screen. This is because they used some music that was re-done from the original games and gives you the feeling you are going back to that world, instead of a knockoff. Beyond having that feel, I actually did enjoy the music from the game. The sound effects themselves are fairly well done as well.

Fractions

There are 6 available countries that you can choice as a start. Spain, Portugal, England, the Netherlands, France, and Venice. Each country has their own local products and every one of them are competing to take control of allied countries as well as the resources.

Adventure

It’s about time to set sail and journey across the continent! You will be having a various discoveries around the world. Whether relics, animals, geographies, treasures, and any other marvelous and exciting discoveries. You will posses the fastest ship among the others.

Trade

Rag to riches. Being a merchant is a good way to make money. You can produces goods or buy them from the Market Keeper in every city. You can also buy local products from one place and sell it to another region which gives you extra money, experience, and fame. For example, the easiest way to level up and make money is to buy pepper from India, and sell it around Europe. Be careful for pirates! You will posses the ship with biggest cargo.

Maritime

Navy or pirates, what will you choose? Being a navy means fighting the pirates, and being the pirates means to plunder other players and take their goods, but be aware of the navies. It is fun to fight with the help of your fleet which makes things easier. You will posses the ship with strongest durability and able to bring more cannons.

Sea and Land Battle

There are 2 types of battle. Sea battle and land battle. Sea battle takes place in the sea, of course, using your ships, cannons, and sailors to defeat your enemies. Better ship, cannon, and more sailor helps you a lot in sea battle. Different in land battle, you will use your equipment and fight the enemies. Better equipment helps you a lot in land battle.

School

To learn more about Uncharted Waters Online gameplay and stuffs, you are able to learn it in-game. There is a feature called school that helps newbies to learn more about the game. Many seniors will also help their juniors to enjoy the game. Aika, for example, is a GA in-game that will gladly to help players with stuffs that they cannot understand.
